Hi Neighbor!

At one time this was an incandescent and neon marquee for the Milgram's store near Truman Road  and Cleveland. Milgram's faded into Kansas City history and the sign was commandeered by an now-defunct thrift store and who knows what the hell else after the old Sears building around the corner fell to make room for a Postal Service facility.

As luck and weather would have it, the Milgram's lettering is starting to magically reappear, probably just in time for yet another renovation and repurposing of the old store.
The sign is a true relic. Check out the deco details. I wish there were still a couple of the old "Hi Neighbor" neons still around. Those damned things terrified me when I was a kid. Probably because we were a Kroger family. And there ain't no safe way.

Thus spake the rabbit.

Thanks. Ms. Fopeano was hotness enough, but she was no Bette Hayes.
