This Kodachrome was taken at the Crown Center Ice Terrace in Kansas City late in 1975. I have no idea who he is, only that while I was taking pictures of skaters as a self-assignment, he stopped at the rail and gave me barely enough time to squeeze off one frame. Then he vanished into the swirl of skaters, and I went back to work at The Mechanical Eye, selling expensive cameras to lawyers and doctors.
I have tripped over this slide for years. It moved with me to Colorado and back to Kansas City, and survived six more moves since. I always wondered who the kid was, and where he is now. He would be in his late forties at least.
